Cluster type varieties

Toric varieties are the one of the most important classes of varieties as they bridge algebraic geometry with combinatorics. In this talk, we will introduce a recent generalization of toric varieties. The so-called cluster type varieties. These are some special compactifications of algebraic tori. We will give a few examples and state some structural theorems about these varieties.
