Higher dimensional algebraic fiberings of group extensions

We will discuss some recent results (joint with Prof. Stefano Vidussi) on higher dimensional algebraic fiberings of group extensions, recently published in JLMS. We hope to explain the main tool used, the Bieri-Neumann-Renz-Strebel Sigma theory and some recent results due to Kropholler-Walsh, Friedl-Vidussi that motivated the results we will discuss. If the time permits we can discuss a pro-p version of the same problems.
