Distinguished Teaching Award

The Distinguished Teaching Award is a campus-wide award that recognizes the excellence in teaching by a graduate student. It is highly competitive and is bestowed on only two graduate students per year, one in STEM and one in CHASS.

2022 - 2023 Award Recipients

Based upon careful review of nomination letters submitted by faculty, students, and peers as well as teaching evaluations, the Distinguished Teaching Award Selection Committee has recognized our very own, Gerardo Orozco-Fernenadez, in receiving an honorable mention for his superior classroom performance as a teaching assistant.

This year, due to the many high-quality nominees - the DTA Selection Committee received approximately 170 nominations for 60 nominees - and decided to award three honorable mentions in STEM and two in HASSE.

Please join us in congratulating Gerardo in earning honorable mention!
